Must Hear: Sam Smith’s Top 6 Songs

London born singer Sam Smith has made waves with his distinctly versatile British falsetto. His popularity has grown almost overnight from his humble beginnings in the UK. Raised in Great Chishill, a small town nestled comfortably between Cambridge and London, Smith set out on his journey to conquer the music world with his soulful sound and affable personality. After years of hard work, the 22 year-old singer struck at luck when EDM group Disclosure asked him to be a feature on one of their tracks. This propelled the young singer’s career on the fast-track to stardom. Inspired by the R&B diva Beyonce, and his desire for a married man, among many other things, Sam Smith took to the studio and recorded what would become his debut album “In The Lonely Hour“. It topped the charts in the UK and became the second highest selling debut-record of 2014 in the United States with total sales reaching 746,000 in just five months. Smith’s young career is only getting started…

Here is our list of the top 6 Sam Smith songs you should hear.

Featured Video: The FAMM – “5am”

Colorado’s own, The Famm, dropped their latest video today, which as usual for these emcees, is nothing short of a cinematic delicacy. The FAMM crew has been building a reputable name for themseves in the Colorado music scene for the past few years, and it’s apparent to us that they have tremendously outgrown many of their peers in regards to the quality of the material they put out ; both visually and vocally as well as the content of their music. This music video can be taken as a testament to the undeniable hunger for success these two posses.

“…and anybody askin’ why me and Johnny so damn cold, it’s years of doing WORK, and it appears that doing it worked. Went from paying to perform, now they pay to wear my shirts.”

Featured EP: Niykee Heaton – Bad Intentions

If you don’t know who Niykee Heaton is, it’s about time you found out. While initially being skeptical of the songstress’s singing ability, her most recent release “Bad Intentions” has most certainly removed any skepticism we held. If you’ve  ever heard any of her covers on YouTube (the ones responsible for her sudden success), we can attest that they don’t come close in comparison to any track on this project. Not to mention the production on this EP is incredible in itself, and without a doubt, it manges to compliment the 19-year-olds  outstanding  versatility. Listen below, and let us know what you think.

Featured EP: Templo – Time To Fly

“DAMN” is the first thing to come to mind when listening to Colorado producer Templo’s new four track EP “Time To Fly”. For those of you who can appreciate the thought provoking subtleties of downtempo, this one is for you. Not only does this EP offer diversity in only four tracks, it also sets a precedent for the quality orchestrating we should come to expect in a sub-genre that is continuing to grow in popularity.

While the intro track “Breeeth” is nothing short of an ambient delicacy, our favorite track without a doubt is “Wake Up Time”.

But that’s just our opinion. What’s your favorite track? Comment below.
